Garcinia Cambogia Side Effects Liver
What Does The Liver Do?
As you will know our livers and kidneys are the two major organs responsible for removing toxins from our bodies. Whilst the Kidney concentrates on removing waste and excess water from our blood, the liver (amongst other things) secretes bile which helps breaks down fat from our foods. When fat is broken down, it is either used up by the body, or sent for storage which is why we put on weight.
One of the ways Garcinia Cambogia works is by blocking an enzyme found in the liver that converts carbohydrates and sugars into fat. Therefore lots of people wrongfully assume that there are side effects associated with the use of Garcinia Cambogia, particularly with the liver.
Garcinia Cambogia Side Effects on the Liver
Lots of studies have been carried out testing the effects of the consumption of Garcinia Cambogia on all areas of the human body, focussing on the liver. To date there have been no reported side effects associated with the use of Garcinia Cambogia.
Further controlled studies have been carried out testing the use of Hydroxycitric Acid (HCA) – the main active ingredient found inside the Garcinia Cambogia fruit. In these studies, animals were subjected to 5000 mg/kg HCA, which is equivalent to a human taking 350g HCA (233 times the maximum recommended dosage of HCA). Doctors found no ill effects in any of the animals tested.
It is recommended that you consult your doctor before you start taking any new medication, especially if you are pregnant or using existing medication. However, the good news is that there have been no reported side effects associated with the use of Garcinia Cambogia.
